What We Believe
We believe that everyone has a good pet, though the pet may have some bad or unapproved behaviors, and that commitment to a pet is essential.
We also believe that no dog (or other animal) is too young or too old to be in training. Finally, we believe that training animals with leadership, loyalty, and love is far superior and more lasting and beneficial to "treat training." Experience has proven that as we help develop the communication between you and your pet, your relationship will change from mutual frustration to mutual love, respect, and understanding leading to changed behaviors. This change creates a healthy relationship and helps you and your pet become a close team. The A.B.C. in our name stands for "All `Bout Commitment." That's what it takes.
About Anthony Moyer
Anthony opened ABC Pet Services in Eagle Point Oregon after returning to the Rogue Valley in 2004. Born in Medford, Oregon, Anthony moved to California as a young child, returning to visit the Rogue Valley every summer right up through college. Anthony has always had a great love of animals, and training and caring for animals has been part of his life since childhood.
Pursuing his passion as an adult through both individual training as well as attending professional classes, apprenticing with other trainers, working at kennel facilities, Anthony's professional dog training career began in 2001. That's when he opened a training/rescue company in Elk Grove, CA that became - and remains - one of the top rated training companies in California's Sacramento Valley (That company is now under new ownership).
ABC Pet Services, Inc. offers pet services such as dog obedience training and pet sitting services. In addition, Anthony has donated many hours of training to several regional animal rescue organizations in order to help abused and neglected pets become adoptable and find new and loving homes. He is also a volunteer for the City of Eagle Point's Department of Parks and Recreation and has sat on the city council seat for the Departments of Parks and Recreation. He is also involved with the Jackson County Sheriff's Mounted Search and Rescue (MSAR) volunteers.
Testimonials
To begin with, I am extremely pleased with Burt's progress. When we started he was not socialized and didn't even know that a park full of noisy humans and barking jumping dogs even existed. So he was scared, snappy and growly in the beginning of classes. With Anthony's patience getting his owner (Mom) to stand tall and go forward without worrying about Burt getting into trouble - Burt calmed down, learned his commands and actually enjoys doing them. He still likes to try and assume control, but, I now understand more on how to tell him no and give appropriate corrections. We now enjoy our walks and he has been into town several times while being very much under control. Now he thumbs his nose at the poor city dogs who don't have 40 acres to roam onand Burt does it politely. I think that Anthony's approach to the dogs and their owners is very professional and he reads us humans like a book. He lets us know that our dogs are only as good as the time spent with them.
Our Golden Retriever puppy came to us when he was eight weeks old. He was a bundle of energy and mischief like we had never seen. In fact, we weren't sure if he was the dog for us and had thoughts about giving him up.
I happened upon Anthony Moyer, who owns ABC Pet Services, one afternoon and he assured me that together we could "fix" and modify the behaviors we could not live with. And so we did - most of them anyway. Anthony reminds us how we can work with our Jake to continue to improve his behavior as he grows up. We have received compliments from strangers on what a well-behaved dog we have. Jake is still full of energy - as he should be, but it is controlled and fun and he continues to learn as we work with him.
We bought two mixed breed puppies from a person selling them out of a shopping cart in the PetSmart parkinglot. They came home with us, got vet checked at All Creatures Vet Clinic and quickly became settled in our home. Unfortunately, we did not remember what a handfull puppies really are. The two took over the house and literally began to run everything. Anthony Moyer of ABC Pet Services was referred to us by Dr. Turbeck for dog training. So, we called and set up a free inhome consultation. Anthony Moyer came out and sat with us for over two hours as we discussed behaviors, training methods, what we wanted to accomplish and the future of the dogs. Anthony was patient and listened to what we had to say and then played with the dogs testing temperments and socialability. He then came up with several training options for our family to choose from, explained the hows and whys to us and gave us the chance to ask questions. Our family was not pressured into signing up and actually Anthony asked us to discuss it for a few days before making a decision and then call him to make arrangements when we had made a decision. We are glad that we chose Anthony and ABC Pet Services to work with our family pets and especially to work and teach our family.
I have a darling Border Collie that I wanted to be part of our family, however she had other ideas and thought that she would prefer to destroy my home whenever I left her alone. She literally chewed apart two full living room sets! My husband said she has to go, but I loved that dog and wanted a solution! In desperation for some harmony in the household I called ABC Pet Services and talked with Anthony Moyer. Anthony said Molly was simply experiencing separation anxiety, and that her way of dealing with it was to chew and find ways to entertain herself. He suggested I buy a large crate and to make the crate a HAPPY place for her. Starting with giving her treats in what we fondly call her "house", and never sending her there for punishment. I hated the idea and thought it was making it like a jail. I was wrong! Molly has learned to love her house and the security and safe place it provides for her.. Now whenever I put on my shoes, she knows I am going somewhere and goes to her house all on her own!
We highly recommend Anthony Moyer's ABC Pet Services for any problems you may be having with your pets. Anthony's quick, expert advice sure has restored happiness to our home! Most important though, we have a well mannered, HAPPY dog that is far more adjusted to being alone in the house. Molly feels safe and secure and no more chewed furniture!
Thank you Anthony! We appreciate your help!
